Hah, the European Union just launched a Masto instance and a Peertube instance XD

not screenreader friendly

@welshpixie loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

@welshpixie to be honest, it would make so much more sense for government, government institutions, and politicians to be active on fediverse compared to twitter or facebook...

@bugbear @welshpixie

That is, until Musk or Zuckerberg buy them... (or the other way around).

@welshpixie In typical EU fashion (I work on some of their projects), they have managed to mangle almost every link to their mastodon instances and accounts - listing twitter instead of their europa domains :)

@welshpixie I like it. It's good.

They can curate their own experience too. 🙏

@welshpixie thanks, no worries. I had already checked Close

@welshpixie I hope the EU seriously considers investing greatly into public digital infrastructure and social networks :blobcatsurprised: :apartyblobcat:

@welshpixie I'm not the EU's biggest fan, but this is probably an indicator that the fediverse is becoming more mainstream and a generally accepted network.

@bob It's only a test, but yeah. Anything that helps bringing new people and building a richer network is OK for everyone, I hope.

@welshpixie @jaj I subscribed to peertube updates on Mastodon via ActivityPub but the feed is empty 🤔 @EU_Commission
