How public arts funding helps developers make unique, more diverse games (featuring Melbourne's own Untitled Goose Game :dingdingpixel: :honk:)

Updated my Raspberry Pi e-ink temperature display to be easier to read, and it also now includes our power consumption and production!

I know porridge doesn't seem very interesting, but I followed Serious Eats' recipe, soaking the oats overnight, and it's goddamn DELICIOUS.

(This was going to be breakfast but thanks to an hour and a half blackout RIGHT as I was turning the stove on, it ended up being lunch instead).

In terms of community trust, there is an important hierarchy in which politicians, real estate agents sit at the bottom, and nurses, social workers, first responders are at the top, but all must give respect to the truly most trusted figures of all: the weird units posting constantly on specific model car and motorbike mechanical internet forums

Today's breadposting efforts and the resulting lunch. 👌

With slack down, the nerds can interact with each other the way God intended—on vast chains of email, passing Word documents with track changes back and forth

Welp, Slack's having an outage. That's a major part of my job I can't do now, heh.

sometimes i think about all those people who genuinely believe that being biologically male or female affects things like your emotional depth or ability to moderate your emotional reactions

and then i think about how when Rationalism hit Europe there was an abrupt 180 from "women are unfit for leadership because they are Cold and Incapable of being Sufficiently Passionate" to "women are unfit for leadership because they are Emotional and Incapable of being Sufficiently Rational"

Woohoo, the 2.7" e-ink display I ordered finally arrived! Now I just need to update my setup that feeds it information because it looks utterly ridiculous right now. 😂

Me: Computer, please install this program

Computer: No

Me: what

Computer: that program is dangerous

Me: why is it dangerous? It's a text editor.

Computer: Exactly! It can write FILES! To your HARD DRIVE! Do you understand how INSANELY DANGEROUS that is? Files! Just anywhere! Brrrrr. Don't thank me, I'm just doing my job. Keeping you safe.

Me: download it anyway, please. I want to edit files.

Computer: I'm reporting you for this. You are a menace to society. Files. For shame.

Me: What should I be doing instead of files?

Computer: Glad you asked! It's 2020. You should be spinning up a Kubernetes of Dockers on your public cloud each of which is a Github which send JSON messages over HTTP3 to the microservice host on your Virtualbox private cloud which is running a whole bunch more Dockers each of which is a Node.js which is pulling dependencies from

Me: files seemed a bit simpler than that

Aw yeah, got the day off today. Started a new city in Cities: Skylines and I've got my furry little lap warmer.

Selfie, eye contact

Current status: head shaved, beard trimmed, freshly showered, nice and warm in my hoodie.

Delightful. 👍

Breadposting, meat

Today's roll-based food was a bacon and egg roll for lunch, and it was bloody excellent. I think I'll put more ketchup on next time though.
