Hi. I'm Verdi. I’m a product designer at Mozilla where I work on Firefox.

I’ve had a ton of past lives including: nuclear sub engineer, performance/video/theater artist, high school media teacher, and professional machinima director.

I was also part of the small group of people making vlogging happen before YouTube was around.

Two years ago I got it in my head that I wanted to make games. Well, not real game games. More like art/vlog/performance/game mashups. Wish me luck.

I've been playing with making panoramas from moving vehicles - using the motion of the vehicle to make the panorama rather than rotating my phone. The results are often really distorted. Occasionally, the effect is subtle. I really like this one from a bus ride through Vancouver.

Here's a clip from the video game I've been working on, where you explore an island... but all is not as it seems.

Whenever I see this button in my car (mostly when I'm picking up tacos at the drive thru) I think of Star Trek Voyager.

My favorite image from hiking last week. This was taken in Zion national park (Utah, USA).

I went hiking in Zion National Park (Utah, USA) last week. It looks like a fantasy Leonardo da Vinci landscape.

Just a little something that came to my mind that I just had to put to page...

Yesterday I used Twine to prototype a small part of the game I'm working on. As part of that I added a tiny bit of css to make it fit better on a phone - and I created a Bandersnatch-like timer
Check them out if you make things with Twine. And see it in action with my little prototype

the last photograph i took during daylight in 2018, as the sun slipped towards the waves just beyond the westernmost point on the island of oahu, hawaii. my parents stood nearby while i clambered down the rocks with my hasselblad.

it gets cold so quickly when we spin beyond the reach of the sun.

Y’all. I’m going to see Peter Murphy and David J play this tonight. 16yr old me exploded when I first heard that song.

And, we done. A surprisingly capable paper! No plan and intended to make a muddy mess. The first page of any new sketchbook is always me just throwing everything I can at it, and layering and scrubbing. It held up, and didn’t lift when I layered— a preference that is surprisingly hard to find in more cost efficient papers. I’m gonna enjoy keeping this one!
