I'm Adam, queer, trans, non-binary art student,

I do illustration, bookbinding, I'm starting with comics and zines, sometimes I do handpoke, lino/wood prints and ceramics. I recently started a mega-zine FLOU (ig: flouzine) about nonbinary issues, that I want to work more on, but now I got stuck on drawing snakes..

I move around Czech and Slovakia, sometimes Amsterdam. Now going to Tallinn, to EKA (anyone from around there?)

I like pretty rocks and cartoons.

Why is it so easy (and enjoyable) for me to draw hands separately, but seems to be almost an impossible task when drawing them as a part of the whole figure??

set up an account and put my first thing up on gumroad today! Made a promise to myself to try start earning some money from my art, although it makes me feel uncomfortable/ashamed? But as for now I'm spending everything I make on art supplies, I guess I should try to revisit why exactly I feel so weird about it. Is it the capitalist shame, is it feeling like my things are not good enough to be payed for, is it that I dont want to be underpaid nor ask for too much? ugh..

Birth of Venus

Hey, I realized I've been gone for like a month or so.. I was overthinking and catastrophising a lot and my table is a big mess. But I missed it here, so I'm back! Here's my test print of my opinionated Venus the manhating butch feminist. I love her. The paper was too thin so it shrivelled a bit, but the colour turned out amazing.

Illustrated nudity of yet another non-binary grounded angel

ppl of mastodon, what do I do with backgrounds?? Asking for help

Just like overstating the effects of T and blaming toxic masculine behaviors on T scares people away from hormones and makes them overall less accessible. It doesn't help trans people who are just coming out at all.

It's good for them to have realistic expectations, but part of being realistic is not making things sound much worse than they are to make them think twice.

Why do we believe trans people should have to think twice in the first place? Where's that coming from?

Like they should know they might get acne but we shouldn't act like it's going to destroy their skin or is in any way going to be tremendously worse than what people go through when they're 12 and their balls drop.

Zine talk

@asparagus_plumosa @sneakysnek @mildpain oooh I love this idea and I’d love to join! I also like discord best for group calls/chats

Zine talk

@sneakysnek @mildpain that's the best idea! How about we arrange something this weekend? Anyone interested can toot on this thread and we could do a zoom hangout (or via any other program really!) And we can do zines and talk about them 😇

As for myself, I enjoy courses on Domestika, especially Fanzine and Self-publishing lab, and Sketchbook Creation. They also often have open courses!

ONLINE ART COURSES

Does anyone have tips for some good online art courses? Or is anyone teaching one?
(Extra interested in zine/print making, illustration and similar stuff, but share anything that you liked, so people can maybe find it here in the )

I drew this in a digital illustration course, when I first started using procreate. I was quite heavily influenced by the teacher's drawing style, and it shows.. but i really enjoyed the theme, which was:
Taking something from real life and combining it with a dream. So for a few days you write down what you dreamt about and what has happened to you irl and then you find nice pairs.
It's nice to use when you get stuck (maybe could help @asparagus_the_common ?)

Do you draw everyday? Do you have any good drawing exercises or tips?
Mine are drawing without looking at the paper and drawing with your other hand than your dominant, or with both at the same time. Also combining that with not looking at the paper. (If you decide to try that, or you already did please show me!)

nudity, dead fish

Kind of the first comic I ever made, it was in november. Inspired by a poem written by May Sarton, because I find it hard to come up with my own storyline just yet.

nudity, wormy looking snakes

These were the first screen prints I did, I'm stuck on snakes and also Medusa..

Any comic artists in Europe around here?? Here's an open call with a decent grant you can apply for: comicarteurope.eu

I’m looking for submissions for the next issue of my zine, “Transvestia”. This issue is focused on the intersection of fat and trans/nb bodies and experiences. I’m only taking submissions from fat trans/nonbinary people!

I accept all mediums — art, writing, music, even videos! The deadline is Jan 20th 2021. Please email me at transvestiazine@gmail.com or DM me if you’re interested. And please share!!

If you like queer & trans webcomics, check out queercomicsdatabase.com
It's a great catalogue of comics organised by type of media, queer representation, audience, and tone. It has content warnings for the works, and more.
