And while I'm at it get yourself this book: "The Art of Animal Drawing" by Ken Hultgren, who was also an animator on Disney's "Bambi": https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_3_25?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=the+art+of+animal+drawing+by+ken+hultgren&sprefix=the+art+of+animal+drawing%2Caps%2C236&crid=23O7SZ5ZSO16S
This book taught me so much, and it continues to inspire me every day. 💜
Though if I'm to be honest, "Bambi" model sheets rise above all the others in terms of inspiring. Get a look at this deliciousness! 😍
Most of these models I got from Michael Sporn's Animation Splog back when he was still alive and posting. You can still scroll through it, search the tags; dude was awesome, an amazing animator, and contemporary of Richard Williams. He knew so much, and I'm so thankful he shared his knowledge with all of us: http://www.michaelspornanimation.com/splog/
Every time I watch "Bambi", I have to struggle not to grab my sketchbook. Same with "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron". The model sheets for these movies are so gorgeous, I love studying them!
Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's watercolour work has enchanted me for years!
And where would I be without painstakingly trying to copy pokémon card illos when I was 11? :)
Here's the art we picked up: prints from Laura Bifano (http://www.laurabifano.com/) and Tony Cliff (http://www.tonycliff.com/). We loved them so much we had to rush out and pick up frames for them right away. :D
And huzzah for Canadian content from Canadian illustrators/artists! 🇨🇦 ✨ 💜
The show's up until 6pm tonight, and it's on tomorrow, too! You still have time to pick up some amazing art. 🖖
I was reminded of these two sketches today which I still really like. "Windswept" and "The Sitter" (2016).
I used one of @FRENDEN 's brushes, his Gritty Nib brush. But something happened with my settings not long after drawing these and it doesn't work quite the same now, and no amount of fiddling so far has gotten it back to how it was when I made these, which felt perfect.
Ah well! XD Onwards and upwards!

Another little Pokémon doodle… Drifloon this time!
I don't think I like the orange… it looks slightly better on paper than it does here, but I think I'll stick to just the lavender marker from here on out!
