Repost of yesterday's Inktober days 10 to 11 "Flowing" / "Cruel" illness catch-up under natural light.

That one might have even looked good if I hadn't used a brush pen or tried to mix a metallic pen with a marker pen for colouring!

And imagine how much better it would look as digital art.

Just imagine! 🤔🤯

Inktober 2018 Days 10 to 11, "Flowing" / "Cruel" - catching up after having a day off with a cold.

(That comic looked much better when it was just blue pencils, and I'm frustrated that I made such a mess of colouring the text message bubbles, but I'm still pretty pleased with how that turned out!)

Inktober 2018 Day 4, "Spell".

Illustrations for the talk I'm doing at on Thursday, "The Elephant in the Room".

I'll be using a modern take on the ancient Parable of the Elephant - and lots of elephant-themed mixed metaphors - to explore reasons why specialists in single trait conditions might miss underlying pervasive neurodivergence.

Some 5 minute life drawings in charcoal and chalk from this morning's extremely enjoyable Drawing Bisexuals session.

Sanded down my spare thumb pick to be considerably shorter and more rounded.

Definitely makes it a little easier to strum my autoharp low-to-high without strings clunking now!

…Or I may resign myself to only using the thumb pick for strums moving from high to low and adapt all the strums I'm trying to learn so only fingers strum from low to high.

As long as I can produce the strum patterns, it doesn't really matter if I'm using the 'wrong' digits.

I think the way I have to hold my autoharp makes it much harder to strum with a thumb pick in two directions.

I may try sanding down the 'blade' / point on my spare thumb pick to reduce it down to a shorter rounded pick, so it's like strumming with the wrong edge of a plectrum…

I am going to be *so* good at country music when I finish this audiobook autoharp course!

And I mostly play folk inspired music, so country's not *that* far off what I'm aiming for 🙂

I take it back, my MP3 file just told me to set the counter on my cassette player to 0 so I can keep rewinding back to the start of the song and replay until I get it perfect! 😆
