For ez reading, here's a toot thread of all the games i've made so far!

Starting with my first game, GAY FOREST SIMULATOR 2015! You collect firewood so you can have a lovely night with your girlfriend. Very short, simple, not much to it, really was just an experiment to try stuff out. Cute tho.

if you don't have the VX Ace runtime package, you'll need to download that here: rpgmakerweb.com/download/addit

then i played a bit with vertex meadow, a game-making tool that lets you draw the map in 2D, and it extrapolates it into a 3D environment.

vertexmeadow.xyz/player.html?l

it was my first exploration in something more moody

warning: the shifting of the environment can be pretty flashy, it may be a seizure or migraine risk

'crevices' was my second play with vertex meadow. purely a walking sim, this one has a bit more to the environment, there being the crevices and the plateaus and special ways to get between both. very labyrinthine.

“a long time alone” was an investigation on the process of loneliness and recovery. the concept was if the mind was a physical space, and time consisted of how you moved through that space.

it's also a neat adventure-style 'walking simulator' with objectives.

tips:
if you’re lost or stuck, you can press j to start the level over.
if you’re glitching, try to switch in an out of edit mode by pressing e.

then i made a brick breaker game to experiment with physics and gamemaker, for a brick-breaking game jam.

play in browser: vivaizix.itch.io/breakbricker

it's just two lil levels, not much to this one. also the sound is very piercing.

'empty space' was made for fermi paradox jam.

vivaizix.itch.io/emptyspace

another vertex meadow game. interestingly, 'a long time alone' took the mind and a moment and made it into eternity - 'empty space' takes an infinite concept and makes it into a constrained room with little to discover.

there is a small objective, which may or may not be a secret depending on which way you start flying. (seen in this screen shot, though it's almost impossible to make out)

chomp

short experiment with flickgame.org game tool.

a lot of my stuff is conceptual. this feels very conceptual, but it's really just me being hungry.

next up: DRILINQUENCY

vivaizix.itch.io/drilinquency

ONE MAN,
AND ALSO HIS ONE PAIR OF JEANS,
AND ALSO ONE COP

a flickgame, made for dril jam. visual novel-style interactive version of the tweet by wint dril esq:
"THE COP GROWLS "TAKE OFF TH OSE JEANS, CITIZEN." I COMPLY, REVEALING THE FULL LENGTH DENIM TATTOOS ON BOTH LEGS. THE COP SCREAMS; DEFEATED"

content warning for police, light nudity, and implied piss.

@presolace Gossamer is really lovely. Great colours!

Rad to see you made some things with Vertex Meadow too!

@blueberrysoft thank you so much!! i just looked at your stuff to see which you made with vertex and i immediately remembered playing polka zone... so many years ago now..

two others i made are on the vertex examples too. ian asked for people who were making stuff with it, and his response and putting it up meant so much to me back then. being able to pick up a program that i near-instantly understood made a huge difference.

i'm like blown away! i love a small world sometimes

@presolace Oh yes, I would have played those ones!

I live like a half hours walk from Ian, and I'm sure he would be very happy that you liked VM and found it useful!

Even though the game-making group of people on Fedi is small, it's a good one :)

@blueberrysoft i remember feeling very welcomed by his response. he seems like a good dude

i def love the different styles here. in general the small games scene is both huge and .. small. so its not unheard of but it's cool to stumble into someone whose games we've played but might have never looked up or whatnot

i know i hope that my games inspire people, so, yeah, thanks for making something that helped encourage me to try that tool, which helped me express myself when i really needed to <3
