@GizmoWalpole @Curator these are just guidelines, not hard rules. generally if you see something that you think should be behind a CW, you politely tell the person who posted it. And if someone asks you to CW something, it is polite to do that from then on.

E.g. I post a lot of photos of spiders and other bugs many people have phobias of, so I mark those sensitive. I also try to CW talk of food and alcohol, as I have friends who have eating disorders or are sober and would rather skip that stuff. It's not mandatory but it's just a nice thing to do.

However many servers DO have hard rules about posting NSFW images without CWs!

These tea bowls also came out of the glaze kiln today. I'm really pleased with the glaze. It's the first glaze I've tinkered with to make my own color.

I can't say I invented it, as I'm using a base recipe from Mastering Cone 6 Glazes. What's original is the mix of colorants to get this wash of blue/green/purple with the gold on edges & texture.

I played mad science & tested a bunch of combinations until I found the one I wanted.

I kind of want to call it Fool's Gold.

^ An important addition to the above:

Mastodon supports GIFs in the timeline, and they auto-play. It's very *very* important that if your GIF has anything even remotely flashing or strobing or glitchy, you put it behind a content warning.

If in doubt at all, just shove it behind a content warning to be safe <3

We (people on Masto) typically content warn things that might be upsetting or challenging for other users to look at. A few of things commonly hidden here might surprise you!

*Eye Contact (from people-photos, animals, and art)
*Food (food discussion, and food images, real or art)
*Caps (shouting in all-caps)
*Insects
*Common phobia things like trypophobia
*Discussion of politics

Be kind, be gentle, be considerate :bear_hugs:

Eyes - cat drawing, looking right at ya

This cat is seriously not impressed. Dinner time started over one and a half minutes ago and you're still sitting there.

Had to put a content warning on this one. Even I'm unnerved by the Glare of Feline Judgement™️

One more fundraiser pet portrait complete, despite all of my procrastination. Probably about five or six hours of time into this one.

I don't think I quite got the eyes but this seemed like an OK point to stop. Process details/pics in follow up toot.

on canvasboard.

Good day, .ART! When I was drawing our wonderful Curators prompts last week I decided to focus on faces because that's still one of my week points. So I took out my ink and here you go: Some portrait practice. Will do more but I need a break! :da_phew: By the way: Because I want to learn about this, comments and tips are encouraged!

Yesterday was the last day of the 5MinuteSketch challenge - shall we up it to 10 minute sketches this week? If you don't want to take more time from your day, you can just choose one image to do ^.^

Beetles and a tiny lizard!

If you look closely at its antennae they look like they have little hearts at the end :artcataww:

Beetles and a tiny lizard!

And for the end of the week, I present to you some creatures I came across and managed to photograph. Missing from here are a cute grass snake that slithered away too fast and a dung beetle. I took a shaky video but had to hurry because I was on the road with two dogs and there were a lot of cars passing by (it was the weekend) on that forest road. The bug made it to safety.
In summer there are some really amazingly colored beetles in the woods.

All the past two weeks' 2- and 5-minute sketches in one picture. Even if the individual sketches aren't anything to hang on a wall, the sheer number of things that can come out of so little time committed is satisfying to see.

Ritade denna för några veckor sedan - funderar på att utgå från den och göra något tredimensionellt i lera. Kanske använda en tavelram och bygga upp det.

Sorry, Curator, but 5 minutes are not enough for combining crosshatching with your interesting prompts (negative space, reflections, texture, whoa). So these are (15' for the lamp). More gained, less stress. But I want to try something shape-based soon. Then 3-4 minutes should suffice.
