@modgethanc ❤ Southern accents. One of the unexpectedly nice things about working for an international company is I now know people with southern accents for real. My only exposure in Europe was via TV. Somehow the Americans I knew in Europe were always from one of the northern parts of the coasts.
@insom i know, right?? and there's such a variety and depth to them, too; i often run into west virginians, who are plenty different from carolinas, and texas is completely it's own thing way over there.
(sometimes when i'm outside of north america, people don't peg me as american because i don't immediately have like the tv-style southern accent that's apparently associated with americanness??)
