What music helps you focus? Get in a creative mindset?

Vivaldi Flute Concertos help me stay on task.

The music is just complex enough to keep part of my brain busy, but not focused on it, while the rest of me works.

And/Or I've trained myself, by repetition, to focus when I hear them.

This may have been mostly due to the fact I only had a few cds at the time. So the ones I had, early on, got a lot of play.

I got my first cd boom box when I was a freshman.

My first CD was They Might Be Giants - Flood, and my biggest cd purchase that year was a 5 disc set of Nat King Cole Trio albums.

Soon other cds would follow, from bands like Garbage to Anime soundtracks (which were pretty hard to find at the time).

But at the start, there was TMBG, Nat King Cole, and Classical music.

Cds were expensive me, the first one in my family to go to a 4 year college.

The classical cds were usually 5-10 dollars cheaper than the popular discs, and - even better, could be found half price at resale shops.

For a prior youth symphony viola player, this was often music I enjoyed, so it was an especially good deal for me.

I still sometimes buy music I used to play.

So, yes. Vivaldi Flute Concertos, which I put on for studying, is my traditional go to for hyper focus.

What's yours?
