If you haven't checked out the Snake Post Office Zine that @Quixote171 put together with contributions from across the fediverse, what are you even doing with your life? Here's my contribution, a woodcut of the titular post office in Milton, NC, which is indefinitely closed due to an alleged snake infestation.

The audio was not intentional but could not have been better (cw: Winona Ryder making weird somewhat silly tortured noises) 🧛‍♂️

I am probably hopelessly behind on inktober at this point, but at least I came up with something for “Dragon” that I don’t hate. 🧛‍♂️

Inktober Day 7, "Enchanted." (mildly gruesome but not gory)

day 7, "Enchanted."

, 3"x4"

From Wikipedia: "A Hand of Glory is the dried and pickled hand of a male person who has been hanged, often specified as being the left (Latin: sinister) hand, or, if the man was hanged for murder, the hand that 'did the deed.' "

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_of_

day 5 "Build."

, 3"x4".

Only one day behind now 🙄 Need to work on inking technique, although I think there's only so much that can be done with water-based ink (and I'm not going to roll out oil when I'm only printing a few of these at a time)

Going to attempt as a series of 3"x4" linocuts; The only chance I have of seeing this through is if I keep it quick-and-dirty; sketch directly on the block, a single pass carving, straight to print. Fighting the inclination to go back and do touch ups is going to be the hardest part for me.

Finally got back to this one. Better, but I think I'm going to do one more pass trying to remove the super fine ghost lines. I think I need a slightly bigger v-gouge for most initial line work.

I've been wanting to try for years, but never got around to making a stamp. Finally did that today.

Letterboxing is like geocaching, but instead of coordinates you follow treasure-map style clues to find a box hidden somewhere, typically some sort of public land. You bring along a pocket notebook and your stamp.

When you find the box, there's a book and a stamp in it. You stamp the book in the box with your stamp, and you stamp your own book with the stamp from the box.
