recent project shot for http://www.lukstudiodesign.com/
two contact sheets from yesterday
the first selection was of 16, felt unsure and made a second edit down to 12, of those 1 or 2 I think might work
A project from 2014 shot for Lukstudio.
This was a small space but had some great details and spatial effects that made it a real pleasure to work with. Sadly the shop itself was quite shortlived.
Also appreciate a good and legitimate work excuse to get out on the bike and ride in the sunshine :)
I really appreciate the impulse to not only record technical aspects of the process, as is normally done, but to add this atypical layer of artistic documentation.
At each stage I have been photographing the various iterations of the system's physical mock-ups/test models as sculptural objects, the images being distributed as beautifully framed prints to those collaborating on the project.
I can't say too much about the work, or reveal the images, as it involves the development of new industrial processes. Hopefully that will be possible once the system under development is eventually launched as a finished project. For now it is strictly private.
(I suspect this may be a relic of that famous initiative to produce more steel)
quick pick from this morning
first round 171 -> 16
second round 16 -> 3
third round 3 -> 1
Little BTS from this morning's shoot showing the basic lighting set-up
was a quick shot to check exposure, but I like the way it turned out - won't fit the series but does suggest new directions
might not last too much longer though, as it seems people have been borrowing bricks from a hole in the wall near the base...
