Made a few tweaks


Probably should also have mentioned in the last toot that this is based on concepts from my game "Just a Robot", which I have started working on again this month after a long hiatus.

I wasn't going to bother posting any more of these because honestly I am probably not going to go this direction, but I do really like this one.

I like this look, but I don't think I could make the whole game in only 3 or 4 colours.

Some of these were inspired by this concept art I found in my travels. I like the style because I think it will translate well into pixel characters, which will be the next step!

I didn't do any work today 😱 But I did work on a commission, that's adjacent, right?

I find designing command line interfaces satisfying in a way that designing GUIs is not

I don't think I'm very good at moodboards, they tend to end up just being "pictures I like"

I think I am going to abandon my attempt to fake 3D lights in 2D. Maybe something like this looks good enough? Or maybe I will just stick to doing lights and shadows in the art. Definitely want to make some gameplay and design progress for and not just this sort of nonsense

One of the reasons I switched to Godot was because of its dedicated 2D engine, as opposed to Unity faking 2D within a 3D engine. But now I'm thinking of faking 2D in Godot's 3D engine so that I can do fancy lighting easier 😂

For the first day of I decided to get back into the shader I was working on in Godot for cel shading 3/4 perspective games, but ended up struggling with git for several hours instead

Kinda wish shipment tracking didn't exist sometimes. It never really explains what's going on and you're powerless to effect it in any way, so it's just another dumb thing to fret about.

I think I would enjoy being a build engineer, but I probably only think that because the build processes of some of the projects I work on are such a nightmare and I want to fix them so bad
