Ah, the joys and perils of frisket (masking fluid). The clients are a family who want their faces in a famous painting that has a black background. I masked the boundaries of the figures before laying down the background wash, which required two washes. Peeling up the frisket afterward not only lifted the pencils, but in some spots messed with the paper texture. Hope it won't ruin the piece.
