I've been bombing all my job stuff lately and i am once again left to wonder if i should keep trying to get help for my not-adhd or keep moving from job to job to keep chasing that novelty that my brain loves so much

it proved impossible in Ireland, but i wonder if Sweden would be any better. Except I don't speak Swedish πŸ™ƒ

@cryodraws for what it's worth, I've been told by a general psychologist that I don't have ADHD, and then I saw an ADHD specialist who told me I was a textbook case

children and adults show symptoms in different ways (bc you learned to cope/hide it πŸ™ƒ), but most general psychs assume you grew up with a halfway competent medical system that would've caught it when you were a child, and failing that, try to apply the child diagnosis criteria even if you're an adult

@embr yeah the one time i went for an assessment it all revolved around childhood that was pretty hard for me to remember. And not being hyperactive made it all the more difficult to prove, i've just been told to drink more water lol :/

@cryodraws yeah that sounds familiar :/

I'm combined type and was just yelled at as a child if I didn't sit still, so I just started stimming, and a child psych saw that and thought I was autistic. then I saw one as an adult who just dismissed me because "obviously the child psych would've caught it" and "you only fulfill ~90% of the criteria" (???)

I saw a private specialist who was Hella expensive but it was such a relief to know that I wasn't just "lazy" like everyone told me
