"Study break"
Birthday present for a friend, who drowns in study work and can hardly make time for a relaxing cup of tea. Hopefully the Japanese tea set that went along with it can help.
A bit smaller than 30x20cm. The frame is one piece cut out of dense cork. (References for foreground and background were used, see thread.)
So far I never managed to do a more proper #introduction, but finally I got the time! So:
Hi all, I'm Blu! 👋
I like crafty art projects, #papercrafting, #3D #modelling, #gamedev, and sometimes #drawing and electronics stuff. Maybe some writing or digital painting in the future. There will be #origami occaisonally.
In the last weeks I already met a lot of cool people on this instance! I'm looking forward to mingle and posting some of my stuff every now and then. Hi all, happy to be around!
This is an #origami model I've been working on recently.
It was intended to be a human. However, the model decided to rather become a goblin. We are both fine with this development.
More in the thread.
To all Pepper&Carrot readers, supporters and also to all the Free/Libre and Open Source community, here an illustration I just finished to wish you a wonderful time in this end of year. Happy Holidays!

I am grateful towards the amazing artists that created the pieces I based the background and foreground on. Links below. The foreground is pretty much copied (I am still learning).

Dear artists, #AskMastodon
I have a question regarding intellectual property:
I created drawings using other artists' works as references. Sometimes I copied a lot, but only to practise or maybe as gift for a friend. If I used references from many artists, must I credit all of them? Could I publish it here on Mastodon?
I am happy to credit any artist any time for work that's not mine. But where to draw the line between getting inspiration, copying parts of the work, and plagiarising an idea?
Helsinki was founded at the delta of river Vantaa in 1550. The area is called Vanhakaupunki wich would roughly translate to "Old town". Here lies and old power and water plant with its damn and waterfall dating from 1876. During the dark months of autumn and winter the waterfall is lit with strong LED lights. The colors change as I have witnessed it being red and blue.
I took this shot with my trusty Mamiya C220 with the 80mm f2.8 on Lomography Color 800. f8 and about 6s.

Yeahy! I finished thew outlines for an image of an #OC for my game.
The tiny lines were quite some work, i had to take a break because my hand hurt 🙄 ...
I really hope that I did not make a mistake by drawing the body and have to fix it. 😅
Hi I'm Blu! I like to connect, get inspired, and inspire, if I can. I do papercrafting and origami, 3D modeling, 2D editing, and game programming. Trying to get into digital painting and writing some day.
Lot's of unfinished projects, but I hope I can post stuff I've done soon and every now and then. Daytime work keeps me busy, also constantly trying to learn new stuff.
SFW, but will CW
