Found these early character design explorations while cleaning up my disk. It'd be a shame to let them forever languish in a backup!

The bottom row is an attempt to figure how far I can get in 15 min tops portraits.

Hope you guys don't mind this sort of content sometimes, because I love doing portrait sculptures.

They not only help to get a better grasp on anatomy but are blast to work on! I wish I could do this every day.

Here's one of out of three nose studies from a while back.

New update just in! Special thanks to @anaisfae for patching issues!

Back to art...
This is what happens when you can't to create a character for ttrpg without having some idea of what they look like, but you happen to have some serious aphantasia. They always get portraits. Always! Preferentially in the time allotted to work on their sheets. 😅

✨ Profile Card:

I also put a Tumblr-inspired profile card together to a sense of people's content without having to leave the current page. It's very handy in finding people to follow.

It works in the home feed and notifications tabs... and pretty much everywhere else in /web.

✨ Automatic Post Privacy:

I sorely miss the ability to draft and preview toots. The closest we got is posting them as mentioned people-only then redrafting.

Meanwhile, I'd also love to control the default privacy of replies... thus this thing was born.

It just auto-clicks your way to the desired privacy. It has a smart mode for replies to not replace stricter modes like mention with more public ones.

I'm enjoying Mastodon so far, but there's one or other feature I really miss. So I cobbled a couple of userscripts together to add them!

Userscripts are client-side modifications can be used through browser extensions like Grease / Violentmonkey. IMPORTANT: Don't forget to alter the //@match if you're not at .art.

I'm going to throw everything related into this thread so it's easily mutable because I bet you didn't expect to see this kind of geeking coming from a random art profile! 🙃

Ugh, forgot the captions.

1. Sketchbook page spread with pencil drawings of people from 1900s, some wearing hats, plus plants and moths doodles in between.
2. Close up of early 1900s people: A black man in a suit and hat, and two Swedish girls wearing ribbons in their hairs.
3. More late 1800-early 1900 portraits (see a trend?) with a few costumed actresses in the mix. There are also cats, birds, and bones studies in this spread.

I used to suck royally at pencils. Had a few breakthroughs a few months ago and been trying to practice daily now.

The hardest part is keeping at it. 😶

Still figuring out Mastodon. Did the rookie mistake of joining a general server a couple of days ago, now migrating here for the community and local feed. 😬

Here are some studies trying to capture that effortless clouds look!

Hi! I'm Camila, an artist and illustrator with a love for fantasy and horror.
I've worked with novel covers, concept art and games in general. I lean towards character art but try to keep a broader focus to cultivate the toolset needed for my own weird projects.

Looking forward to meeting other creatives!
