Hello, everyone!

I am a complete and utter who is interested in learning more about: , , , , , , and other . I'll share as I learn, but expect to be just lurking for awhile as I get up to speed with and -- I'm a software dev by trade, so interested in .

I'm picking this up as a hobby, thanks to inspiration from my soon-to-be college age daughter, who wants to be an animator.

Read an interesting post on the Blender subreddit... the person had drawn a forward (at an angle) 2D walk cycle. Someone in the comments asked if they'd created a 3D model to use as a reference. They hadn't, but that's a pretty darn clever idea... a good way to learn?

"The penman's hand-book : for penmen and students, embracing a history of writing ... many complete alphabets ... ; Also, Chapters on teaching penmanship, business letter writing, off-hand flourishing ... etc."

A lovely resource on lettering and flourishing :D

Okay, retooting my first animation because I've now learned how to go from Blender output to animated GIF (so that it's embeddable here)...

It's a simple "walk cycle" with a cartoon mushroom. I'll probably continue to try and iterate on this to get the timing and flow better.
