I have now wasted two hours attempting simple #video #editing with #OpenShot on #linux, but it keeps crashing on me. Are there any stable #videoediting #opensource software out there? A visualised #audio track would certainly be of help, since I'm trying to mix video with #music.
@akuaintance I realised I had an ancient version of OpenShot, I'll try the latest version before I give up. At least I'm somewhat familiar with the interface.
@bluebirch Try KdenLive as an Appimage. 😉
kdenlive?
@bluebirch i use #kdenlive and it's been very stable for last few years.
regarding visualisation: are you comfortable with command-line to any degree?
if you install (or already have installed) #ffmpeg you can do some crazy stuff:

also using mp3/flac with an embeded cover:

or simple counter with tv-test image:

@luka I know about #ffmpeg and have used it. The thing is that I don't have proper recording equipment and record by the piano with my mobile phone only. What I failed to do was to export my edited video with decent audio settings. I'm sure I can fix that with #OpenShot, but I gave up. I just uploaded the video to YouTube. (I wanted to intermix me playing the piano with old footage of my children learning to walk, but the audio track was f---ed up in the process.)
@bluebirch on top of my head -
- Kdenlive,
- Blender(3d program with video editing capabilities)
- shotcut
