Do you know of any #choral works for a #melancholy heart like mine? Something like the German Requiem by Brahms or Vespers (All Night Vigil) by Rachmaninov? Something to instill some spirituality in my hardened little atheist heart? I didn’t find Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis but it didn’t touch me. Should I give it another try? @kensanata I'd try the Bach St John Passion, maybe. Or the B minor Mass, though it isn't exactly melancholy.
Also, go earlier and check out some Renaissance polyphony.
