ah its so nice to post here because i got lots of finished stuff to share :') This one is called after a character in an old tale, "Condwiramurs", who was not in fact a dragon, but it sounds like a dragons name, dont you think? :)

I finally put the last corrections to this portrait of two brothers. I have had some hard time due to the backlit reference picture which I was given to work with, so I had to invent most of the forms in the shadows. In the end I think likeness is here.

This is a commissioned portrait of Levi the Aussie Shepherd who has sadly crossed the rainbow bridge. It’s a digital painting, created in Photoshop CS 5.5 with a Wacom Intuos 4. Painted from scratch, there is no photo manipulation involved.

I have a group show (my first!) coming up shortly. If you’re around Melbourne, AU between August 19 and September 6, please check out Walk in the Park at the Manningham Gallery. Here’s a sneak peek of my entry “Diaphanous”, oil on 60cm x 60cm canvas.

This is a scratchboard piece, “Devotion”, which recently sold at the Camberwell Art Show.

Scratchboard is a fine layer of black ink over a white clay base; you scratch the black layer away to reveal the highlights. I used a scalpel blade but I’m considering giving tattoo needles a go next time.

This is based on a beautiful reference photo by Terri Bauer.

Wow, awesome welcome here, thanks so much everyone 😊

This is the second cat of the two part commission. Her name is Daisy and, like Link, she is black and white charcoal on toned paper.

A recent pet portrait commission in black and white charcoals on toned paper. This fluffy guy’s name is Link. He’s one of two kitties; I’ll post the other later.

Hey! I’m new to Mastodon. It was recommended to me by some fellow artist friends. I live in Melbourne, Australia and I live for my art.

I concentrate exclusively on animals which means I’m usually doing some kind of wildlife art or pet portraits. Here’s a charcoal piece I did fairly recently called “Thy Fearful Symmetry”. I used a reference courtesy of Kaz Turner.
