Some were asking whether there is a Fediverse alternative to Facebook Events/Groups.

There is one on the way!

It's called Mobilizon, and it had a successful crowdfunding to cover development costs. The beta version is due out in October.

It will be free, open and federate with ActivityPub.

You can follow it on here:

The website is here:

@eylul @killyourfm @voidspace @flavigula @luka @flavigula @RussSharek stumbled on this topic,
re jack: install cadence, it takes care of everything for you.
re no synths: there's a ton of LV2 synths: helm, zynfusion, dexed, nekobi, sorcer, vital (soon)... there's also many effects. i have 600 lv2 plugins installed..
if you're not tech savvy i suggest arch gnu/linux-based distros for music. here's why:

re workflows:
coming soon ™️

@kezzbracey i think it's too early for a video, should probably wait until the features for 1.0 are stable, but if you would like to help with the manual/website/resources/source or anything else feel free to send patches!

we also usually hang out at on matrix or on IRC if you'd like to join 🎈

@kezzbracey lol i should work a bit on improving the manual, missing a lot of things atm

@kezzbracey oh which package did you try? i maintain those 2 AUR packages (zrythm/zrythm-git), if they don't build i should fix them lol

if you could send a build log from AUR that would be great

experimental transport sync and exposing of internals to JACK is here!

can now use as a piano roll for e.g. among other things

will be included for testing in next release

@kezzbracey i use abrowser for normal browsing without javascript and many blocking addons, iceweasel for normal browsing with javascript and less protection and tor for nasty stuff or anonymous browsing

I'm also behind a VPN to avoid ISP tracking

Anyway, the trick is to have multiple identities. Don't do all your browsing in a single browser to make it harder to be tracked via cookies and fingerprinting

I do work-related stuff on a separate computer too

It's our birthday today! We are now the wise age of 22. 😋 Join us in reminiscing these past years by sharing some of your favorite GNOME memories!

@MisterTee @unfa @d599f84e @unfa no, sorry. I initially tried it but it takes too many hacks to make it run on windows and it makes the code look ugly and wastes our time. it seems to build easily on mac though

anyway, i suggest upgrading to an OS that respects you and your community

@unfa @d599f84e @unfa yes, it's only for testing at the moment - not ready for production.

bug reports and feedback are encouraged if you want to give it a try:

there is also a manual to help make it easier to understand:

if you can speak various languages you are also encouraged to help translate it:
it's fully translated in French and around 90% translated in German at the moment, thanks to contributors
