Net-art of an endless motel.
Had an OK figure life drawing session last night. Started with a loose sketch, followed by a greyscale painting, and finally digital "glazing" and opaque color.

Made a digital painting of a photo of my dad's childhood home.
Work in Progress from figure drawing last week
A train sketch from the other morning.
Lilo and Stitch dressed as characters from ALIEN.
I lucked into a seat on the train this evening, so got in a little drawing on my commute home.
Trying to "sculpt" my paintings more instead of painting on top of drawings...
Oh it's been a while tooters.
Here. Have some arts.
Tonight's figure model was Dave. He has a great, expressive face, and holds a rock-steady pose. He's quick with a Dad-joke.
Train doodling this week.
Can't make an omelet etc.
Portraits are so gratifying when they go well. She’s looking down and to the left. #Thoughtful. What’s over there? What’s on her mind? This makes me want to #paint real portraits with people whose stories I actually know.
This was my 3rd issue of #100doodles - I'll post a new one tomorrow.
Here's my most recent #100doodles issue -> https://tinyletter.com/abouthalf/letters/january-16th-vast-stretches-of-water
I've started on another web-painting.
I have a little more work to do - some animation refinements plus a few more elements.
I like the idea of paintings as web sites as public art.
It becomes a sort of mural.
Here's the first post from my newsletter, just to give an idea of what I'm going for...

Well!
I'm trying something new this year. I want to make more art more often. And I want to share it with folks who might find it meaningful. I also want to contribute to the open web outside of of Facebook.
So!
I'm starting a small newsletter at TinyLetter where I'll publish once or twice a week. The goal is to create 100 doodles this year...a mix of painting and blogging in your email.
