Void, the @TheVoid@mastodon.art

While my first post here dates back to November 2017, I only really started to be active by the 23 of March '18, when I did a series of #Introductions posts at: https://masto.pt/@eloisa/99734764083483050

As you can see, I grew up with the whole Fediverse experience, personally as well as socially.

My own identity gained even more fluidity, as well as my views towards things like CWs, blocklists, etc...

- We gave each entry a number in the comments and pulled those numbers and names into a spreadsheet;
- We then used random.org's sequence feature to randomize the order of those entries;
- After that we used the standard random.org process to get ourselves a winner!

We've received a lot of support for receiving funding form the Arm foundation.

***As much as we'd ❤️ that to be true... we have received zero funding to date from Arm (or any other company for that matter).***

The Works on Arm initiative granted us access to a HiSilicon based Arm server provided by Packet.com. That's the only things we've received as part of our sponsorship.

We do acknowledge the hardware we have access to is non-trivial, amazing and we're using it to the fullest extent possible. 😄

Our current financial situation is:

We have 2 backers on our Open Collective and that is the full extent of our incoming dollars and cents. ($55 / mo before fees, both backers signed up in early February 2019). To date the project has been fiscally supported by the founders own money.

Pixelfed is slowly building federation support to take on Instagram

Plume is a blogging engine that leverages the network for comments and sharing of content (Tumblr alternative)

PeerTube is hoping to take on YouTube

FunkWhale is inspired by grooveshark and wants you to get your groove going

PInafore is a lean, mean UI that's pretty

Halcyon is a tweet deck alternative

we have a couple CLI UI's as well

We have some tools that auto-delete posts after a timeout

We have some tools that cross post rss feed articles as posts

We have a LOT of developers from ALL over that are doing some really cool things.

This network isn't just a singular instance OR experience. It's the human condition of many views upon a topic expressed in a technical form.
