I am unabashedly On My Bullshit at all times both online and offline. If you thought my rambling about OCs, anime, and video games like Final Fantasy and touhou were limited to my online presence, you were wrong. My family, friends, and coworkers are all subjected to it as much as you are.

Watched a vtuber clip with English subtitles and my understanding of what the person said was pretty different from what the subtitles said 🤔

I only played like 3 new games this year so I just nominated Sakuna and Granblue Versus for all the Steam Awards lol

imo if you think Smash Bros. is less complicated than other fighting games you've probably just never looked at the competitive scene and heard how those players talk about the game.

Neofeud is a cyberPUNK game about police murder of minorities, social, racial & economic inequality, & the prison/military/police-industrial complex, made by a poverty-line POC social worker (me!) Help us pay some bills and put food in our kids mouths this Thanksgiving!

@wolfcoder You losing to people online who have practiced for many more hours than you doesn't make a game inaccessible. Losing is how you learn. Every good fighting game player has lost more matches than they've won.
Save replays whenever a match goes very well or very poorly so you can review what happened later with fresh eyes. If possible, it's best to play with people you know so you can give each other feedback on what you did well or poorly. Plus these games are most fun with friends imo.

Doodled a Link as a lil' warmup/dink around sketch, because FB shoved an ooold old doodle I did of him in my face as a memories post.

I think a lot of people are intimidated by fighting games because of an outdated understanding of what some games were like 20 or 30 years ago.
The genre has a reputation for being obtuse but every game from the last 15 years has a beginner-friendly tutorial.
Also a lot of people only watch high-level play and don't understand that that's not what's expected of them. You don't need to play a sport at a professional level to play with your friends in the backyard. Fighting games are the same way.

Maybe it's time to save up for a macro... so many amazing details missed here... Any recommendations for lenses that don't bleed you dry?

I'm just so fucking annoyed by capitalism and by tech bros and by this unthinking pursuit of new and powerful technologies blah blah blah

If you're not helping people and fixing actual real problems in society then what's the fucking point??

Hey! I'm trying to see something, so please boost this!
If you're bilingual (*fluent* in two languages and speak both on a regular basis), please answer this poll!! (it's multiple choice)
*in the third option, I mean the level of someone who only speaks one language at a native speaker's level
**in the fourth option, I mean you feel as if you can't hold up to standards of a native speaker's level and it makes you feel out of place, eg. in groups of native speakers, at work etc.

The Pope railing against people protesting masks and saying that those people would never protest George Flloyd's death or the poverty of children because "they are incapable of moving outside of their own little world of interests" brightened my evening a bit

Covid-19, uspol

Meanwhile, I know people who've been potentially exposed who are still working. Because rent doesn't pay itself and employers are only giving paid sick leave *after* a positive test result *with* specific symptoms.

If we want to beat this thing, we need people to stay home rather than spread it. But if they're gonna do that, they need support to do it. And we're not giving it to them.

This culture is rotten to its core.
