Far from being an expert myself, but I can imagine that the conceptual point on the bottom (right) could also depend a little bit on the expectation of the viewer relative to context.

For example, say there is a power outage and the guy on the bottom right is combing through their dark house. Then the latern might still attract attention because it stands out (glowing), but the gun might be the unexpected, foreboding eye-catcher.

@cornflower Thank you, I'm glad you like them! Great point re: context; there's no such thing as a design in a vacuum. I suppose that's why everyone's dunking on angry final fantasy man.
