Now here are some newer works, others can be seen in my more recent toots. I practised quite a bit in the meantime using Youtube and Craftsy as resources. I think it's especially helpful to work on your new artsy skill *every day* for longer periods of time, like one or two weeks or even a month (yay #mermay and #inktober!). It's also a good thing to carefully explore your limitations and push the boundaries. That way, you don't get discouraged too quickly.
@TQ Seriously, I'm amazed by your determination and the progress you made so far. Also really like your style! I'm excited to see more to come... 🎨
@TQ you're right... I'm not good at art (patience, techniques, etc.), but i recently picked up playing music after 12~ish years and it just feels right, motivating and fun, even though it's pretty amateurish at this point... :)
@platypus Well, who's to say what's amateurish and what isn't? What is the purpose of art itself? Mastery? Fun? Relaxation? Entertainment? Money?
I always feel there's some kind of strange cult around famous artists whose works are traded like stocks, while I have to ask myself - is money the right equivalent to art? It feels completely off, if you can follow me...
@TQ yup, I get it and I agree, it is really strange how art in general is looked upon. Really can't wrap my head around it.
As you already mentioned how highly subjective art is viewed, I'd say: I think I wanna reach some kind of level, I'm personally satisfied with? I may have also chosen the term amateurish because of some kind of self-esteem-issues, I guess.
@TQ These are beautiful! I especially like the lady gesturing grandly on the forest path. Great perspective!
Haha, and I totally uploaded the wrong image with the wrong image description... So, here's the houses, the road, some rose bushes!
@TQ mhmmmm Denmark
(Not saying that I'm the perfect artist™ or anything like that, just in case. 🙄 )
