Been pretty happy with my current OS setup lately. Running the latest Manjaro, with a tiling window manager extension for Gnome. It's funny, I was already manually tiling, essentially, but I just started using a tile manager this week. I love it.

I'm on a backup PC lately...because my pro machine is having issues. Manjaro runs well even on much weaker hardware. Wouldn't be able to function without it.

What's your computer setup?

I'm finally making some progress on my journey of making .

I have an LCD tablet that is not compatible with Krita, full stop, and didn't have pressure sensitivity with . My next attempt was going to be , but then I remembered a non LCD Wacom Intuos5 tablet I have.

I was able to make this with that using , and it worked great. Still wish I had a working LCD tablet, but this is a viable option.

I'm curious, since Mastodon is an Open Source community, are there a lot of Linux users on here?

What operating system are you running? (Reply if it's another OS)

Reboot time for my pc is 21 seconds with Pop! OS. I think that's better than my iPhone reboot time.

I've had an interesting couple of weeks of computer problems. My daily driver for the past few years has been a Hackintosh with excellent hardware, but with all the drawbacks of getting Mac OS X to run on normal hardware.

After problems, I've been using Pop!_OS by System 76, a version of Ubuntu, Linux. And I gotta say, I love it so far. My current goal is to figure out how well I can do my normal art work with the distro. Will be documenting that in the near future.

Current desktop, running Pop! OS. Really liking it.

Imagine this is HD, lol. Had to really crush the quality to upload.

Have had some twists and turns trying to update my hackintosh, and accidentally broke the bootloader. So I'm currently running Ubuntu on my main computer right now, using a backup HDD.

The positive is, it's a good opportunity to really try Linux on my main machine. First time I've had the chance to do that. I've tried so many distros, but always in a test scenario. Might switch to another distro in a day or two, or in VM.

I haven't done one of these yet, so:
"Let's play a game to help some of the newcomers make connections: name 5-7 things that interest you but aren't in your profile as tags so they are searchable. Then boost this post or repeat its instructions so others know to do the same."

(I know that's too many. Sorry.)

Receiving an old iMac soon and thinking about what I want to do with it. I love tinkering with old computers and Linux. I have two 10+ year old PC's that I've put Lubuntu and Xubuntu on, and they work great as media devices. Anyone have any experience putting Linux on a 10 year old iMac?
