Introduce yourself, or your friends? #ff?

I am sick and tired of constantly reviewing settings in web browsers to see if they have snuck in some new tracking mechanism that I get to disable because "your privacy is important to us".

I am sick and tired of all the black UX that goes into this, like opt out instead of opt in, or at least providing top level choices like, say, Fuck NO I'd NEVER EVER Like You To Track ANYTHING Now And In Every Perceivable Future. Like sync'ing every setting in your profile except tracking related settings, because hey that way you might by mistake opt out of tracking on another installation where you really wanted to be tracked. The list goes on and on.

Browsers are critical infrastructure and clearly an open source stamp on them fails in itself to provide any meaningful shield towards capitalist subversion.

I'd like a browser with a license that explicitly rules out *any* kind of commercial entity or interest contributing or directing development.

Coffee Coffee Coffee!
Join us for the Emperor Norton Coffee Hour! BYOB, hang out and chat :) Starts in one hour!
#circusInPlace to follow

Join the apparently caffeine-powered clowns as they fuel up during the Emperor Norton Coffee Hour...with an entire night of acrobatic shenanigans to follow.

Starting at 7pm UTC-5, in the video chat:

When you buy a pot of basil, you are not buying one plant, but a tightly sown clump of more than 20 seedlings.

This gives the appearance of an extremely healthy, bushy plant, which looks great on the shelf. But the reality is that these seedlings soon start to compete with each other for space, causing the plants in the clump to succumb to lack nutrients.

To fix this, take the clump of plants and divide the root ball into quarters by gently tearing it apart with your fingers.

Firefox, privacy, ads, instructions for disabling

New ads system in Firefox: /

image shows the bottom of the "Privacy and Security" section of Settings, the "Address Bar - Firefox Suggest" header. At the bottom is "Contextual suggestions" and "Include occasional sponsored suggestions", both of which are checked by default in Firefox 92+ for - according to - a limited subset of US users.

i've discovered that if you put the words "uninformed public" on something in a stock photo, it becomes about as good of a social commentary as the average political cartoon

good afternoon fediverse

I promise that if I ever bring you a Beatles track, it's a cover and worthy of a listen, just like this

Just about time for a midweek break!
#circusInPlace begins in 2 hours!
Come hang out with clowns and their friends and unwind with us :)

Heads-up: apparently Twitch got hacked by some anon off 4chan and their, like, everything got posted

There's rumors that this included encrypted passwords, so changing 'em might be advisable.

The mid-week tomfoolery continues as the clowns return to practicing their skills in the video chat.

Join us starting at 8pm UTC-5:

<< Antiseptic Kisses in Hollywood To fool the flu, during a recent epidemic, movie kisses were rehearsed behind antiseptic masks. Since each kiss must be rehearsed about 20 times before the cameras turn, it was said that four out of five flu germs would be prevented from spreading. Stanley Morton and Betty Furness are shown here. >>

bookmarks=lipu suli/just lipu
list=I'll get back to sina with that one

(#Toki_Pona just in case)

Hey, I learned a new spooky #banjo song from 1882! This is "Egyptian Fandango" by Horace Weston and it is not actually a Fandango (and certainly not Egyptian) but it's a pretty cool little tune.

The pixie flitted back and forth, taking and returning one crayon at a time, each a little shorter upon return, confident of her stealthiness.

I'd been pretending to be reading the whole time. The only one who hadn't noticed was the kid I was babysitting, who'd fallen asleep halfway into their coloring-book.

Eventually I tiptoed over and peeked into her nest.

I was expecting art but she was repackaging carefully cut slivers of color!

I recently finished a book on Stockholm Syndrome.

It started out badly, but by the end I really liked it.
