I just read that Harlan Ellison passed away yesterday.
In another life, I was a jeweler with a penchant for making, amongst other things, fan-related fine art pieces.
For his 65th birthday, his fans commissioned this green lantern ring. I'm told it sat on his writing desk for years after.
His books shaped the dark corners of my warped mind.
On the jewelry piece, here's a close up:
Did it, though?
Jury is still deliberating...
Oh, knowing them I'd guess that's just what they _tell_ you.
(It probably was for the best anyhow)
(Most likely)
(Honestly, I personally am pretty sure!)
Thanks...I think? :)
@RussSharek Holy shit, man, long time no see. Fancy running into you in the fediverse!
Oh my. Hello fellow flashback!
@RussSharek I am sad at this. Godspeed, Harlan.
@RussSharek Funny how some writers just resonate, for years, in our minds. Finding those writers is like the gears finding the right notch. And then, click.
Very true. Same with teachers, for me.
I read Deathbird Stories in its entirety in one night. Only after did I notice the warning at the start of the book not to do this, because it would f*** you up for life.
