A friend just apologized to me for being “one of the evil people who stream music.” Just to be clear! There’s nothing evil about using the streaming services as a discovery tool. Just buy a product now & then from artists you love. My 2 cents

Another #introduction tip for new Mastodon users ( like me ):
Unlike Twitter, which shows strangers' posts in your feed once they get popular or once your friends like them, Mastodon appears to only show you posts by people you're following and posts they've boosted ( which is Mastodon-ese for RT )
So if you appreciate someone else's post and you also want your followers to see it too, you need to click those boost arrows. Just clicking the fave star won't make it visible to your followers.

#MastoArt Quick question as I learn how this platform is like and unlike Twitter! How do I see who has “favorited” a “toot?” (My junior high school self is not going to stop giggling about that anytime soon.)
I mean, what about talking about art with people I’ve never met instead of getting dragged into stupid fights with people I’ve never met? Even if I don’t disable my Twitter, this seems like a cool thing to try.
