This is probably the piece in my portfolio that I'm proudest of right now.
It was a bastard to finish (took a few weeks!) and I'm fairly certain that if I'd had to paint one more pipe or cable I'd have gone completely off my damn rocker.
Wasn't made for any reason in particular, other than I had an itch to paint a giant robot. I go a little nuts with art every now and then, and sometimes it works out 😁

@MJBlacke You've captured the light beautifully there, and implied hours of DIY / fixing that robot is a nice positive message. Gold Star! ⭐️
@MJBlacke It's beautiful! I like it a lot! 😀
@MJBlacke the detail in this is astonishing. you can really tell it was a labour of love. great work!
@Alraune Oof, it was a labour all right, but I like to think it was worth it ^_^
Thanks so much!
@MJBlacke This is amazing, congratulations
@MJBlacke Err not congratulations, I meant like "good job"
@tora lol, thanks! 😄
@MJBlacke this art piece is fantastic! *-*
@MJBlacke This is fantastic... The amount of work you put into the details definitely shows :)
What's most surprising to me is how cohesive the piece is despite all the details. This is something I have always struggled with. Your piece is *enriched* by small details but doesn't bog down the viewer... It's clear and focused, but if you stare at it for a while your gaze can travel around and take in all the other stuff :)
@karyl omg, thanks so much!
Yeah, composition can be a real bugger sometimes. For pieces like this it usually takes a couple of days of fiddling on the base sketch alone, just trying to get things to line up where I want them. But the devil's in the details, as they say, so it's worth it 🙂
@MJBlacke there's a really good adventure involving that picture!
@MJBlacke looks fantastic! Great level of detail.
