First I wanted to make a personal website that could link to my creative endeavours though:
It's the first website I've made so I kept it simple, but I'm pretty proud of it, haha!
The next step is to announce on #YouTube that I won't be uploading videos there anymore!
I say why on my website 😎

SOME DUSTY OLD BOOK ON THE FREE MARKET: see, it's flawless, any business that tries to pull harmful shit will be exposed and then shunned by the public, so we expect all business under the free market to be honest, fair, and serving the greater good of humanity
FOLKS IN 2019: yeah idk man Google and Amazon have their fingers in every part of my life but my phone's pretty easy to use and has nice colors in it so ehhhh whatever man
Happy New Year Fediverse!
It's still a few hours left until midnight here, but I went ahead and fulfilled my new years resolution of 2018: To get off all privacy violating services.
This year I've deleted #Facebook, #Twitter, #Google+, #Snapchat, #Strava and switched from #Microsoft #Windows to #Linux, switched from #Gmail to #ProtonMail, switched from #Chrome to #Firefox, started using @matrix for messaging, installed #LinageOS on my phone etc.
Here I come 2019! 🎉🎆
@king I'm open for challenges!
I've been trying out #Matrix the past couple of days: 'An open network for secure, decentralized communication'.
It's kinda like the Mastodon of messengers, or more accurately the fediverse of messengers, although calling it a #messenger is a bit of an understatement.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I think it's great! A much needed solution to an increasing problem, not sure why I held of from checking it out for so long! 😅
Hopefully #Blackmagic will extend their official support to more distributions with time, it's so good!
Today I learned a new term and now everything makes sense. Show more
I knew that professional wrestling was it, but it doesn't only explain wrestling, it explains the 'reality' we live in today.
Politics, news, entertainment... it's all kayfabe!
Looks like my faith in humanity won't be restored anytime soon 🙄
I've been trying out various video editors for Linux this week. I didn't want to go through the trouble of getting DaVinci Resolve to work on Pop!_OS as it's only officially supported on CentOS.
One thing became abundantly clear however, Blackmagic Design's offering is leaps and bounds ahead of the alternatives!
It's actually quite amazing how much Blackmagic has improved Resolve the past couple of years.
I guess I'll have to go through the trouble after all 😬
I've been trying to figure out how to do this watermark thing today.
@eishiya recommended to have a URL in it, but it was difficult to have it be visible in the photo without sticking out like a distracting sore thumb.
I think I'll go with something like this unless anyone has a better idea 🙂

Personally, I'm not a fan, but I've also had photos of mine re-posted with no credits.
I made this little thing that I'm considering putting in the corner of the photos I post online, but I'd like a couple of opinions on why I should/shouldn't do it.
I feel it discourages people to re-upload as their own. I know there are tools to remove watermarks, but at the very least then I can see if the uploader is deliberately trying to hide that the content is stolen.
How to use 'Night Light' properly:
1. As soon as you notice the display shifting to an awful yellow tint, turn off Night Light by pressing 'Disable Until Tomorrow'.
2. Continue as you were.
3. At 00:00 the display will suddenly turn yellow which will remind you that you should've been in bed already, go to bed quickly.
Repeat every day.
I need more musicians in my feed!
If you are one, or have someone to recommend, feel free to let me know. I'll check it out and follow if it's up my alley 🎶
