#razcore #matt #3. Easily one of the overlooked aspects by beginners. Skin has thickness as shown in the image. Beginners usually start with cartoon characters because they're simpler, they're full of symbolism, reduced complexity, but it has the downside that it enforces bad habits. Much better is to start from real life anatomy then start breaking the rules. Your art will look a much more believable!
kinda of an old sketch that i wanted to work on again and this is the result so far, the wings took forever to get right, redid them so many times. This is lady puff, she is a vampire like creature #monster #monsterdesign #creature #creaturedesign #mastoart #creativetoot #krita #bat #monsterbat #vampire
Now a sneak-peek of an additionnal drawing (here this is one of the poster of the break room of the very first scene). Seems i do other animals than only Wolves! Here we have Ethilde, a female Gray Fox and her Daughter Abigaïl (half red and gray fox). Nearfennec and one of his son Luka who are proud (?) representatives of the Vulpebipedis lineage!
As always, penciled pages and #Krita for the inking part (and later colouring).
Full page comics don't scan well and I haven't gotten to tool around with #krita yet to fine-tune anything. This is a sketch comic relating to yesterday's Day of Angry. It starts out as an address to Just About Anyone, but is also somewhat me talking to myself as well. I would say it was ultimately cathartic, as it ends on a hopeful note.
Was time to get back to the FZD homework stuff and things are going to ramp up pretty quickly from week to week. These are week 2 assignments of digital painting class as seen at http://charleslin.tumblr.com. Only perspective (5 pages), design sketching (5 pages) & viscom (2-3 pages) left until end of week :). Ya if you're wondering it seems that FZD students get about 5 hours a night sleep on average and barely make the deadlines... #mastoart #krita #digitalart #digitalpainting #razcore
#razcore #matt 7. Color is less important than most people think. In fact you can have great illustrations with only black & white. But even more than that, you can have great illustrations with good shape design. So it goes like this. Shape > values > color. In the example the isn't really a well defined light source, but the illustration still works (at least I think it does, I'm not that good at this yet)
My depiction of a young Aegon Targaryen for the Game of Thrones new chapter pack Shadow City, by Fantasy Flight Games.
Interestingly, I just realized this is the second time I make an illustration about this character, the first one being his older self in Tourney at Harrenhal for the book World of Ice and Fire:)
As usual, made with Krita!
Lots of work got done last week! The Stroke Layer style got faster, there's a new caching system for rendering animations, work on improving locating and handling brushes and other resources, much work on the manual and three busy summer code students!

Webcomic #76: Movie?
(CC BY-SA 4.0)
Finally after a year of hiatus. Here is a new webcomic. Please note I'll be moving, so 5+ hour long drive will happen soon.
Also this webcomic is the first to be digitally inked. No more hurting my hands with tech pens.
