@JordiGH So just to explain the #mathematics of what's going on, the red bits are basins of attraction where the complex roots of the polynomial \(x^8 + (4e^{8r\pi i})x^4 - 4e^{8r \pi i}\) as \(r\) increases from zero. Four of the roots remain stationary and four rotate around.
