This late November bonus plant, Curly Dock, is a widespread perennial with a deep taproot and inconspicuous flowers. It's wavy-edged leaves are hardy to temperatures below freezing and they remain green well beyond most other plants in the area.
The morning this photo was taken followed a 26°F night.
The rosette of leaves may even remain green over winter.
*Rumex crispus* frequently grows in disturbed/cultivated soil and is common on roadsides like this one in the "tree lawn" or verge of a neighborhood street. https://mastodon.art/media/5kmtHgINROuVTwGbfSo
