Weed/Wildflower Wednesday
Another growth season brings me back to my love of wildflowers and weeds
I think I'll start with _Oxalis stricta_, with common names like "common yellow woodsorrel" and "sourgrass" is common on awns at this time of year. It has three leaflets so it might look like a clover, but isn't related at all. It is an edible plant, good to sprinkle on a salad, adding a nice tart (sour like vinegar) flavor. Don't use too much, though. Oxalic acid, which gives the sour taste inhibits calcium absorption.
@Algot Oh, cute. I thought those really were sad clovers for a long time. 🍀 Nice to know I can eat them.
Thanks.
What the L?
"lawns" not "awns"
