long, old art rant

Looking at old art is such a trip because in pushing myself for a more clean look, I feel like I've accidentally stripped away a lot of the personality it once had......... I used to just go mad bonkers on pieces and do whatever and I still love the results on some of the old ones.
I do like my art today too, but it feels bland and I grow frustrated that I can't ever seem to make myself feel excited with my pieces anymore........ I don't know 馃挦

@3__54 When looking through old sketchbooks it's always the deformed and slightly weird ones that catch my eye.
I find myself getting mad at my past self for painting over sketches that I considered failed.

@basicbishoujo yeah! it's frustrating, like "why would I think this was bad???" but maybe the first step is to notice these things, so we can work towards them again... art is hard!

@3__54 It's like when you wish you could go back to how you drew as a child. No care in the world, just endless creativity.
